GS-PPM003 NETWORK PPM MANAGER SOFTWARE DETAILS
The network PPM manager is the software
that allows initial set up of the hardware. From this software it is possible to
find all the GS-PPM003 subracks on your network, to name the subracks for future
easy identification and to name and initially set up the audio inputs on
individual subracks.
SCAN
NETWORK BUTTON:
Pressing this button will allow the software to automatically locate all
GS-PPM003 racks on the network. If no 'short description' has been set then
serial no will be shown. Once hardware has been located it will be added to the
'Connect to' drop down list.
CONNECT TO:
In this drop down box select which GS-PPM003 you want to set up.
SHORT DESCRIPTION FIELD:
This allows a name to be given to a rack for easy identification. This name is
displayed on the meters themselves.
LOCATION & CONTACT
FIELDS:
These fields are user definable to make management and identification in large
systems easier.
CHANNEL NAME:
If a channel has been selected in the 'Channel Names
List' then it will appear here. It's channel number and channel type can be
selected.
A new channel can be created by
clicking on the 'Add Channel' button, entering a description, and selecting the
channel number and channel type.
CHANNEL NUMBER:
This is the physical audio inputs number on the GS-PPM003 that is to be
associated with the user defined channel name. There are a maximum of 6 stereo
inputs or 12 mono inputs on each rack. These are labelled on the rack as
channels 1 to 6.
CHANNEL NAMES LIST:
This is the list of channel names that have been
defined for a rack. This list appears in the meter software.
PERMANENT CONNECTION TAB:
Normally the GS-PPM003 only sends data across the
network to a PC when the PC is running the meter software and has requested data
for a particular meter. The permanent connection tab makes it possible to set up
a GS-PPM003 to always transmit all its meter data across the network to a
particular IP address.
