GS-PPM003 SOFTWARE DETAILS
NETWORK PPM DISPLAY
The network PPM display software is the
user interface for selecting individual meters that are to be displayed on the
users PC.
The concept of this user interface is to define the meter that you want to
display by using the drop down lists and buttons on this software as detailed
below. You then double-click
one of the meters with your mouse and drag it
onto your desktop. You then repeat this process until you have all the meters
that you want on your desktop.
Please click here for more information on moving meters onto your desktop.
Meters for several GS-PPM003 units can be displayed on the desktop at once, by
dragging meters onto the desktop, changing the Data Source selection on the main
window, then dragging more meters onto the desktop.
Once the meters that are
required have been selected and are being displayed on the desktop, the network
PPM display software can be minimized to the task bar. Each time the software is
started it automatically scans the network for all GS-PPM003 connected to the
network.
SCAN NETWORK BUTTON:
This rescans the entire network looking for GS-PPM003 units. The data source
list is then updated accordingly.

DATA SOURCE:
This drop down list shows all the GS-PPM003 units that
are connected to the network. The list shows the 'short description' as defined
in the network PPM manager software followed by the serial no of the GS-PPM003.
The serial number is printed on the rear of the GS-PPM003. If no short
description has been set then just the serial no is displayed.
From this drop down list the GS-PPM003 that you want to connect to should be
selected.

CHANNEL:
This drop down list shows all the audio input channels as defined in the
channel name list in the network PPM manager software for the selected
GS-PPM003. The meters display the audio level of the channel that has been
selected.

DEVICE DETAILS BUTTON:
This button opens a new small window showing the details of the GS-PPM003 that
is currently connected.

OPTIONS BUTTON:
This opens a new window with three tabs. Each allowing the user to set
options.
DISPLAY SETTINGS
TAB:
This tab allows the user to define particular settings that may be required.
The selected settings do not affect any meters that have already been defined
and dragged onto the desktop.

DATA SOURCE LIST TAB:
This tab allows set up of permanent connections to a GS-PPM003 and
management information on non-permanent connections.
A permanent connection is used when a GS-PPM003 has been set up in the network PPM manager software to transmit it's data to a particular IP address and port. This tab allows the local port on the pc to be opened to accept the incoming data from the GS-PPM003.
The non-permanent connections shows a list of all current and previously discovered GS-PPM003 devices. If the description line is in black then the GS-PPM003 is avaialble on the network. If it is in Red then it shows that the device is missing or can not be found on the network.

ALARMS & LOGGING TAB:
This tab allows alarms and logging to be set up.
A user can define an alarm threshold level and time that a particular meter must be below the level for before activating the alarm.
The user can decide if a log of a meter should be saved and they can designate where on their network the log file should be stored. For ease of use and to give a flexible approach as to the use of the logged data the logs are saved in Comma Separated Values (csv) files. A csv file can be easily imported into a spreadsheet and then it is easy for a user to display the data in any format that they wish.
