COMMITTEE ROOM EQUIPMENT
Type GSWL-SR23 LS Power Amps
GENERAL
This is a 1U subrack and provides eight power amplifiers. Drawing number A2-14114
shows the front and rear view of the unit.
The power amplifiers are designed to drive low impedance loudspeakers.
CONTROL
Each amplifier is preceded by a stepped attenuator. Each attenuator. is preceded by
a four position (3 inputs or ground) source selector. These switches are controlled from
the main controller GSWL-SR22 via the RS422 port. A PIC in the GSWL-SR23 unit interprets
the commands from the main controller. Because the system may use several GSWL-SR23 units
it is necessary to provide each of them with a unique address. This is achieved by the
eight bit DIP switch on the rear panel. If replacing an LS subrack it is essential to set
these DIP switches to match the unit being removed.
Two separate torroidal transformers feed two separate power supplies. One PSU feeds
amplifiers 1-4 while the other feeds 5-8. The total audio power output is limited by the
available power from the PSUs. The total power available from amps 1-4 is about 60 watts
and the total power available from amps 5-8 is also 60 watts. Each individual amplifier
can provide about 20 watts.
